‘Five Nights at Freddy’s 3’? Star Skeet Ulrich Gives Positive Update on the Script

'Five Nights at Freddy's 2' Clocks In With Peacock Streaming Release Date

Five Nights at Freddy’s 2 didn’t receive the most glowing critical reception. Add on a cliffhanger ending that left many upset and anxious for a third chapter, and it’s understandable why some have wondered if another film may not happen at all. But Screenrant reports that fans may not have to worry.

According to the outlet, star Skeet Ulrich appeared at a Monster-Mania Con panel and gave a positive update on the script.

“My understanding is that the third one is, you know, well, who can say? But, you know, supposedly there’s a lot of Henry Emily and William Afton, but to be honest, they’re writing it now,” said the actor. “They’ve just hired the writers, so they’re — it’s too early for me to say.”

Star Matthew Lillard also provided comments back in December regarding a FNAF 3 as having always been in the plan, as well. But at the time of this writing, there’s still no official news on the next sequel. So, take this with a grain of salty Freddys fries, especially with Ulrich sounding so hesitant.

Based on the popular video games created by Scott Cawthon, the latest Five Nights at Freddys installment picks up one year after former security guard Mike Schmidt (Josh Hutcherson), his sister Abby (Piper Rubio) and police officer Vanessa Shelly (Elizabeth Lail) survived their encounter with Freddy Fazbear’s Pizzeria’s killer animatronics. But while Mike and Vanessa try to adjust to a post-Freddy Fazbear’s life, Abby attempts to reconnect with her friends Freddy, Bonnie, Chica and Foxy, setting a new series of terrifying events in motion.

Stay tuned to Dread as we learn more about a potential third film.
