Xyrena’s ‘Chucky’ VHS Perfume Bottle Gets a Perfect Retro Ad

Xyrena has unveiled the world’s first VHS perfume bottle, a half-scale glass replica of the iconic home video format!

From the press release: The design debuts with two officially licensed fragrances for Child’s Play 2 and Bride of Chucky, released under the brand’s ongoing licensing agreement with Universal Products & Experiences — marking the first official scents inspired by the Chucky franchise.

The launch also coincides with Xyrena’s 10th anniversary, signaling a new chapter as the brand evolves from a cult fragrance house into a format-driven collectible company.

Designed by founder and creative director Killian Wells, the bottle faithfully recreates a classic VHS cassette with striking detail. Finished in matte black, the design features a transparent reel window that reveals the fragrance inside.

Each bottle includes a sticker kit with authentic half-scale video store decals, reel overlays, and cap wraps such as blood and slime drips, allowing collectors to personalize their bottle.

With this release, Xyrena also introduces Chase Bottles — randomly inserted limited-edition variants inspired by the film or show, bringing the excitement of blind-box collectibles to perfume!

The inaugural releases include:

Good Guy — packaged in a Child’s Play 2 XHS, composed by perfumer Harry Schreiner in collaboration with Killian Wells. Available in a standard edition and an online-exclusive lenticular edition, both with a 1-in-100 chance of a Play Pals Yellow Chase bottle variant. The launch is accompanied by a retro-inspired campaign styled after 1980s fragrance advertisements.

Bad Gal — housed in a Bride of Chucky XHS, composed by perfumer Maxwell Williams in collaboration with Killian Wells. Each release includes a 1-in-100 chance of an Eat Your Heart Out Pink Chase bottle variant.

The VHS perfume bottle and its inaugural releases are available now at Xyrena.com.
