Robert Carradine, Legendary Actor Known for ‘Revenge of the Nerds’, Has Passed Away

Robert Carradine, best known for playing Lewis Skolnick in Revenge of the Nerds and Sam McGuire on Lizzie McGuire, has died at 71.

Carradine began acting in the early 1970s with roles in Bonanza and The Cowboys before gaining wider attention in The Long Riders and The Big Red One. Some genre titles he appears in include Ghosts of Mars, Orca, Tooth and Nail, Ghosts of Mars, Slumber Party Slaughter, The Terror Experiment, as well as The Twilight Zone and Alfred Hitchcock Presents television revivals.

His breakout role came in 1984 with Revenge of the Nerds, which turned him into a pop culture fixture. He later appeared in Escape from L.A., ER, andLizzie McGuire, where he played Hilary Duff’s on-screen father. Carradine had more than 140 credits. He is survived by his daughters Marica and Ever Carradine, and his son, Ian Carradine.
