‘Scary Movie 6’ Spoofs ‘Sinners’, ‘Weapons’, and ‘A Quiet Place’ [Exclusive]

I think I might be more excited for Scary Movie 6 than the next Scream.
The hype kicks off this week when Paramount Pictures shares the first trailer for the film ahead of Scream 7.
The movie doesn’t come out until June 12, and they’re already being funny.
All we know so far is that they’re lampooning Terrifier 3, giving a nod to the iconic mall Santa scene in which Art the Clown blows up a bunch of children.
DREAD CENTRAL can exclusively report that Scary Movie 6 will also parody Ryan Coogler’s Oscar-nominated (and potential winner) Sinners, as well as Zach Cregger’s modern masterpiece Weapons and Platinum Dunes’ A Quiet Place.
Seeing the Wayans harpoon Aunt Gladys from Weapons is going to be a highlight (I can only imagine what they’ll do with the bell), for sure, and you know there’s a fart joke lined up for the Quiet Place spoof.
Marlon Wayans, Shawn Wayans, and Keenen Ivory Wayans, the architects of the franchise, returned to write the script alongside longtime collaborator Rick Alvarez, who is also producing.
Last year, Marlon Wayans told EW that he promised Scary Movie 6 would be “no holds barred and equal opportunity offenders.“
“It’s how we always do it,” he added. “We just want to make everybody laugh, and we don’t care if you’re sensitive. Even sensitive people need to laugh at themselves.”
In that context, DREAD CENTRAL has heard the production may have shot something particularly controversial. While it’s unclear whether it appears in the final cut, a source familiar with the production says that in the Sinners parody, the killer’s Ghostface-inspired mask may depict blackface imagery.
Trailer hits this Friday. I wonder what they’ll reveal.
The cast is massive, bringing back Marlon Wayans, Shawn Wayans, Regina Hall, Anna Faris, Lochlyn Monroe, Dave Sheridan, Cheri Oteri, Chris Elliott and Jon Abrahams, with newly added roles for Damon Wayans Jr., Kim Wayans, Heidi Gardner, and more.
DREAD CENTRAL previously reported exclusively that Felissa Rose appears in a sequence parodying Terrifier 3, specifically skewering the mall scene in which Art the Clown blows up a group of children. The sequence was initially cut from the film but has since been reinstated in a trimmed-down edit. Rose is drenched in blood during the scene that also features an appearance by Terrifier producer Michael Leavy.
Terrifier fans already know this, but Rose also appeared in Terrifier 2, and Leavy played Will the exterminator in the first film, which makes this an extra fun callback.
Paramount will release Scary Movie 6 in theaters on June 12, 2026.
