‘Scream 7’ Featurette Comes Full Circle: Like Mother Like Daughter
Ghostface returns. For Sidney’s daughter.
Paramount released an excellent BTS featurette with Neve Campbell and Isabel May, who discuss the relationship between Sidney and her daughter, Tatum, and how Sidney’s past comes back to haunt them both in Scream 7.
Featuring soundbites from writer/director Kevin Williamson, the featurette highlights Sidney as someone who made immense sacrifices and took significant risks to have a child, while contrasting that with the danger she put her daughter in by keeping her past a secret.
“Obviously, with what Sidney’s been through, choosing to be a mom was a big decision,” says Campbell. “It’s challenging for her not to live in fear of danger coming to her family.”
“There’s no conversation she can have about her past that doesn’t end in death or doom,” adds Williamson. “By keeping the past from her daughter, she’s made her vulnerable to what could come knocking.”
When a new Ghostface killer emerges in the quiet town where Sidney Prescott (Campbell) has built a new life, her darkest fears are realized as her daughter (May) becomes the next target. Determined to protect her family, Sidney must face the horrors of her past to put an end to the bloodshed once and for all.
Scream 7 also stars Anna Camp, Joel McHale, Mckenna Grace, Michelle Randolph, Jimmy Tatro, Asa Germann, Celeste O’Connor, Sam Rechner, Ethan Embry, Timothy Simons, and Mark Consuelos.
Ghostface returns to theaters (including IMAX, Dolby Cinema, 4DX) on February 27, 2026.
