Lionsgate's Giant Snake Movie 'Titan' Retitled to 'Boiúna: Legend of the Amazon'

Lionsgate is firming up its slate for this year and has given its giant snake horror film, Titan, a new title: Boiúna: Legend of the Amazon.

From director Mike P. Nelson (Wrong Turn, V/H/S/85Silent Night, Deadly Night), the survival horror movie takes place in Brazil’s Curuçá River and stars both Kiana Madeira (Fear Street) and Jessica Rothe (Happy Death Day).

Titan is set against the backdrop of Brazil’s Curuçá River in the present day. When a team of young doctors embark on a local humanitarian mission through the Amazon rainforest, it soon becomes clear that not everyone – or everything – is happy to see them. Their arrival draws the attention of an ancient predator, the Boiúna.”

“This ancient killer, dominant on land and water, clashes to reclaim the jungle. The ensuing fight for survival blurs the roles of hunter, prey, and hero.”

Tony Giglio wrote the script with Alan B. McElroy (Wrong Turn).

Constantin Film (Resident Evil) and JB Pictures are the two production companies behind Titan. Robert Kulzer of Constantin Film and Jeremy Bolt of JB Pictures are producing.
