‘Friday the 13th’ Composer Harry Manfredini to Score ‘Crystal Lake’ Prequel Series

Some good news ahead of this weekend’s Friday the 13th! Harry Manfredini, the composer behind the Friday the 13th franchise, will in fact be scoring the upcoming A24/Peacock “Crystal Lake” prequel series, reports JoBlo.
The composer has been with the Friday franchise since the beginning. He’s even responsible for the iconic “ki ki ki, ma ma ma” that accompanies Jason wherever he goes. Manfredini has returned to the franchise countless times, even scoring Friday the 13th: The Game. So, it’s unsurprising yet exciting news worth swinging the machete around that he’ll be once again entering the Friday universe with “Crystal Lake”.
Based on the slasher series begun by Sean S. Cunningham in 1980, “Crystal Lake” “follows a doomed small town where camp counselors come to die.”
The brand-new show stars Linda Cardellini as Pamela Voorhees and includes earlier versions of characters from the original film, such as Crazy Ralph (Nick Cordileone), Claudette (Danielle Kotch) and Barry (Phoenix Parnevik) along with new characters connected to the town’s history.
“Crystal Lake” has also confirmed the presence of Jason as a child, with Callum Vinson cast as a young Jason Voorhees.
Crystal Lake is overseen by showrunner Brad Caleb Kane, who serves as writer and executive producer. Kane has also worked on the hit HBO prequel series It: Welcome to Derry.
At this moment, “Crystal Lake” is set to invite campers back sometime in 2026.
