‘The Red Mask’ Acquired by Stoic Out of FrightFest and Screamfest Festivals

International sales and production company Stoic has acquired worldwide sales rights to horror thriller The Red Mask, which has played a host of genre festivals, including FrightFest in London and Screamfest LA.

The film stars Helena Howard (The Wilds), Inanna Sarkis (After), Jake Abel (Malignant), and Kelli Garner (Lars and the Real Girl).

The slasher pic “follows Allina Green (Howard), an outspoken screenwriter hired to reboot a beloved 1980s horror franchise. When online backlash from purist fans escalates into violent threats, Allina and her fiancée Deetz (Sarkis) retreat to a secluded Airbnb to workshop the script through immersive role-play. What begins as creative experimentation spirals into a deadly confrontation when two unexpected intruders arrive.”

Producers are Atit Shah for Create Entertainment alongside Aimee Schoof and Isen Robbins for Intrinsic Value Films. Screenplay was written by Samantha Gurash and Patrick Robert Young

Stoic’s Nat McCormick, who will be selling the project at the EFM in Berlin, said: The Red Mask is a brilliantly sharp and commercially potent slasher that bridges nostalgia and contemporary cultural critique. Ritesh has delivered a film that honors the genre’s legacy while pushing it forward in a way that feels urgent and globally resonant. We are excited to introduce this complete package to buyers in Berlin.”
