‘Dead Lover’ Trailer – Bonkers Romantic Horror Comedy Arrives this March
I’m sitting here full of giddy laughter as I consider the trailer below for Dead Lover, an upcoming romantic horror comedy from writer/director Grace Glowicki. The film looks absolutely insane, with lines like “I want to pick up a piece of your poo and eat it like a banana” that will be resonating throughout my mind eternally.
Co-written by Glowicki and Ben Petrie, Dead Lover follows a lonely Gravedigger who stinks of corpses. She finally meets her dream man, but their whirlwind affair is cut short when he tragically drowns at sea. Grief-stricken, she goes to morbid lengths to resurrect him through madcap scientific experiments, resulting in grave consequences and unlikely love.
The film also stars Glowicki and Petrie.
In Dread’s Josh Korngut’s review out of Sundance 2025, he called Dead Lover, “[a crunchy, stylish, and radical shadow play] centered on the classical themes of love, death, and transformation.”
Dead Lover will have special “Stink-O-Vision” screenings at Nitehawk Cinema locations in New York on February 9th before expanding to additional theaters on March 20th.
