‘Last Ride’ Trailer – Survival Thriller Traps Three Boys In a Cable Car with a Dead Body

Two things I hate…the cold, and heights. Writer/director Cinqué Lee‘s combines those elements in the upcoming survival thriller Last Ride (aka, A Rare Grand Alignment), as you can see below in the trailer premiered by IGN this morning.

Set during the winter of 1982, the Finnish film follows three American boys who find themselves stranded in a cable car with a dead body, suspended midair in the mountains of Norway during a rare celestial event.

The film stars Roman Griffin Davis, Felix Jamieson, Charlie Price, Kristofer Hivju, and Gustaf Skarsgård.

Based on the trailer, Last Ride appears to be channeling Adam Green’s Frozen (a personal favorite), only with small children, which certainly raises the stakes a bit.

Spike Lee and Todd Slater executive produced, in association with Convoke Media.

Take the Last Ride when the film releases on digital platforms February 20th, 2026 via Quiver Distribution.
