‘Minnie’s Midnight Massacre’ Scores February Digital Release

Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey, you cheeky bit of IP horror. I’d never have guessed a few years ago just how massive the universe would become, though a summertime jaunt to see Bambi: The Reckoning in theaters should have been my first clue. ITN Distribution, the players behind the Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey franchise, have slated Minnie’s Midnight Massacre for a February release. Yes, it’s exactly what it sounds like.
Helmed by Brett Bentmann (also attached to the upcoming Aladdin), Minnie’s Midnight Massacre follows the titular mouse escaping captivity after a cruel prank and subsequently hunting down her tormentors at a lakeside camping retreat.
Hannah Hueston, Cliff Dean, and Indira Starr star with Tiffany McDonald in the title role as Minnie. Going full MCU, Minnie is expected to return in the upcoming Screamboat 2, the sequel to last year’s Screamboat, the reworking of Steamboat Willie’s lore.
At this point, you know whether this expanded slate of IP horror does or does not work for you. There’s clearly an audience, so if you’re among them, Minnie’s Midnight Massacre hits digital on February 24.
