Absolute Scarecrow Revealed On ‘Absolute Batman’ #19 Cover!

Dread Central rarely covers comic books, but Absolute Batman demands attention. Its unapologetic brutality is smashing DC sales records and leaving Marvel scrambling.
For those unfamiliar, comics superstar Scott Snyder, teaming with brilliant artist Nick Dragotta, puts a radical spin on Batman, imagining the Dark Knight stripped of the advantages that defined the original version. Here, Bruce Wayne is a monstrous-sized construction worker who goes to ultraviolent extremes to take down Akira-level villains in Gotham City. The twist? In “Absolute Batman”, Joker is the billionaire… and he’s creating monsters.
Things kicked off with Black Mask, who barely registered as a warm-up for what came next. Mr. Freeze nearly condemned a young Bruce Wayne to an eternity of agony in the cold, while Bane pushed him past his limits in a defining arc. Snyder and Dragotta are putting Wayne and this new take on Batman through a kind of hell the character has rarely faced, and it only keeps escalating.
The Joker made a brief appearance as readers got a glimpse of his horrific origins, and Poison Ivy is set to make her debut in Issue #17, but after that, it’s time to brace for impact. Scarecrow is coming.
Dragotta shares our first-ever look at ABSOLUTE SCARECROW on the cover of Absolute Batman #19.
Prepare for…nightmares.
