It’s ‘Idle Hands’ In Campy Sci-Fi Horror ‘The Restoration at Grayson Manor’ [Images]

Glenn McQuaid Returns With Campy Sci-Fi Horror 'The Restoration at Grayson Manor'

It’s been a long time since I’ve heard the name Glenn McQuaid, one of the very first V/H/S filmmakers, whom I brought on after loving his indie I Sell the Dead.

He’s been doing all sorts of fun and unique horror-related things over the years, but is now touring his latest horror offering, The Restoration at Grayson Manor, a campy, melodramatic sci-fi horror comedy set to have its UK Premiere at FrightFest this coming March.

In the film, Irish playboy Boyd gets experimental nanotech hands that take on a murderous life of their own. The film calls to mind New Line’s classic 1999 Idle Hands, which was one of Devon Sawa’s breakthrough roles.

“Irish playboy Boyd Grayson delights in bringing men home to his sprawling family estate for sex, to spite his legacy-obsessed mother, reminding her she’ll never get the grandchildren she craves.

“When an accident leaves him incapacitated, Boyd finds himself handless and helpless at the mercy of her care. Luckily, family wealth means he will be the first person in history to pilot an experimental technology: nano-tech mechanical hands controlled entirely by his subconscious.

“Soon, however, the hands begin to move on their own…”
