Slasher Sequel ‘Seed: Legacy’ Brings the Return of Uwe Boll

The Uwe Boll experience was a whole lotta fun back in the 2000s. Considered by many to be the worst director in horror, he became a horror household name after directing video game adaptations of House of the Dead (2003), Alone in the Dark (2005), BloodRayne (2005), and Postal (2007).
He would also take a stab at the slasher genre with Seed (2007), which follows a notorious serial killer named Max Seed who survives his execution and goes on a violent spree. It would spawn two sequels, Seed 2: The New Breed (2014) and Seed 3: The New World Order (2018, both directed by Marcel Walz, and not Boll.
Next up is Seed: Legacy, this time directed by Dustin Ferguson.
JoBlo breaks the news on the fourth entry that sees Nick Principe return as slasher Max Seed, with filming slated to begin March 8 in California.
The synopsis: “30 years after the events of the original film, Emily Bishop escapes a nearby asylum to hunt down Max Seed for a final showdown.”
Principe is joined in the cast by Jennifer Moriarty (the Spider Baby remake) as Seed’s Mother, Traci Burr (May) as Fern, and Eric Larsen (General Hospital) as Sheriff Brackett, with Saint Heart (Babylon) taking on the role of Emily Bishop.
In the original film, Emily Bishop was played by an 11-year-old Jodelle Ferland.
Also in the cast is genre icon Lisa Wilcox, who played heroine Alice Johnson in A Nightmare on Elm Street 4: The Dream Master and A Nightmare on Elm Street: The Dream Child. Here, Wilcox will be playing Heather Bishop.
Uwe Boll is producing the film.
