Aaron Fisher (Inside the Rain) directs the horror-dark comedy Corporate Retreat, a wild and crazy new film arriving in theaters everywhere later this year.
Corporate Retreat follows an ensemble of ambitious young executives whose luxury team-building getaway descends into a bloody fight for survival. Things get interesting when the head executive, played by the great Alan Ruck, turns these trust falls into a psychotic game.
Fisher’s own father was the inspiration.
“I’ve wanted to make this film for a long time. My father built a wildly successful company, only to be unceremoniously shoved out,” Fisher tells Dread. “Naturally, I started daydreaming about an alternate reality where he didn’t take it gracefully—where he snapped, became a psychotic killer, and staged his revenge at a corporate retreat that quickly becomes a bloody seminar exposing his insanity. Alan Ruck plays the disgraced entrepreneur, gleefully putting his former colleagues through a series of cruel, sadistic, and violently inventive games. Making this film was my way of offering my father a little cathartic payback… strictly fictional, of course.”
Also starring Odeya Rush, Ashton Sanders, Rosanna Arquette, Sasha Lane, Zion Moreno, Tyler Alvarez, and Benjamin Norris, the film blends the dread of gory survival horror with dark laughs and shocking twists.
Gary J. Tunnicliffe (Scream 4, Halloween: Resurrection, Hellraiser sequels) handled the film’s special makeup effects!
