“Impractical Jokers” Team Writing ‘Stream’ Sequel for ‘Terrifier’ Producer!

Following the success of Terrifier, franchise co-producer Michael Leavy stepped behind the camera for his own slasher, Stream, which follows four deranged killers (with extremely cool masks) who lock down a hotel and play a sadistic game, competing for the most creative murders of all the guests.
A sequel was quickly announced with news that Leavy would return to direct and David Howard Thornton (Art the Clown in Terrifier 1-3) would reprise his role from the first movie as “Player 2”.
Brian “Q” Quinn of Impractical Jokers just dropped the news on the “Talk is Jericho” Podcast that he and one of his writing partners on the show, Joe Imburgio, have penned the sequel’s script.
“Q and Joe joining the Stream team is a perfect match for where we want to take this franchise,” said Leavy. “They get it. From day one, they completely understood the tone. They’re massive horror fans and cut from the same cloth as us. Their success in comedy translates perfectly to horror; it’s truly a secret weapon. Scares, like jokes, are all about beats; they live and die by timing—and they know how to land both … they know what works. We truly feel this film will thrill our fans, both old and new. So buckle up, this is going to be a fun ride!”
“Stream 2 will further tug on the thread that was revealed in Stream and unravel the dark web surrounding a twisted game of life and death.”
Stream centers around a game that pits masked murders against each other as they compete to rack up the most creative kills possible, all while it is live streamed to fans at home who bet on the action. It’s available now in over 30 countries on demand via Amazon, Apple TV, Google, YouTube and Fandango. Physical DVD & Blu-ray releases are available as well.
Jason Leavy will also be returning as a producer with Steven Della Salla as the producer and director of photography.
