Enter Bloody Mary: A New Pirate Threat Emerges in Amazon’s ‘The Bluff’ Trailer
Amazon Studios shares with Dread the trailer and art for their new pirate series, “The Bluff”, which isn’t quite horror but said to be incredibly bloody, which makes sense considering the main character’s nickname is “Bloody Mary”.
In the series, as her tranquil life is shattered by the return of her vengeful former captain, a skilled ex-pirate must confront her bloody past to save her family.
From The Russo Brothers (Avengers: Endgame, Extraction) and director Frank E. Flowers, “The Bluf” is hyped as a non-stop thrill ride, blending historical context with modern cinematic flair, filled with gripping sword fights, tactical traps, and bloody brawls.
Ercell “Bloody Mary” Bodden (Priyanka Chopra Jonas) thought she had escaped her violent past as a pirate, finding peace in the Cayman Islands with her loving husband T.H. (Ismael Cruz Cordova), their son Isaac (Vedanten Naidoo) and her sister-in-law Elizabeth (Safia Oakley-Green). But when her notorious former captain, Connor (Karl Urban), arrives seeking revenge, Ercell’s world is torn apart.
