Poltergeist star Heather O’Rourke brought a certain magic to the screen that was almost indescribable. Known as the little girl with the line, “they’re here”, she captured the hearts of audiences everywhere in 1982. Back then, anyone would’ve said a bright future lay ahead of her. Tragically, Heather was taken from us during the shooting of Poltergeist III. To remember her, directors Brian Pocrass and Nick Bailey created the documentary She Was Here.

Courtesy of Variety, we now have a release date and trailer for the film, which you can watch below.

She Was Here was shot with the complete participation of O’Rourke’s family members, and seeks to “counter decades of internet speculation and conspiracy theories surrounding O’Rourke’s death by presenting an authorized account from those who knew her.”

Included are interviews with O’Rourke’s sisters Kathleen and Tammy O’Rourke, along with industry figures including Craig T. Nelson, JoBeth Williams, Zach Galligan, Gary Sherman and Chris Alexander. Several participants are speaking publicly about O’Rourke for the first time.

Go into the light with She Was Here when the film releases on VOD and digital platforms Feb. 24 from Virgil Films and IndieCan Entertainment. Kino Lorber is handling DVD distribution the same day.
