Creepy ’28 Years Later: The Bone Temple’ Image Shows Ralph Fiennes Performing a Ritual

There’s big hype behind 28 Years Later: The Bone Temple, the second of three new 28 Weeks Later films set for release in just a few weeks (see it early). Critics are calling it the best in the franchise and a huge step up from the already incredible 28 Years Later of last year.

Today, we have a brand new image of Dr. Kelson (Ralph Fiennes) performing some sort of mysterious ritual, courtesy of Screen Rant.

“The actor appears to be in very rough shape. Already an elderly man who survived the Rage Virus in a post-apocalyptic Britain, Kelson’s deeply sunken-in eyes and famished appearance give viewers a horrifying look at what’s to come in the horror film,” adds the site.

Nia DaCosta (Candyman, The Marvels) directed from a script by Alex Garland (28 Days Later, 28 Years Later).

“In a continuation of the epic story, Dr. Kelson (Ralph Fiennes) finds himself in a shocking new relationship – with consequences that could change the world as they know it – and Spike’s (Alfie Williams) encounter with Jimmy Crystal (Jack O’Connell) becomes a nightmare he can’t escape. In the world of The Bone Temple, the infected are no longer the greatest threat to survival – the inhumanity of the survivors can be stranger and more terrifying.”

28 YEARS LATER: THE BONE TEMPLE is exclusively in movie theaters on January 16th, 2026.
