Coming Soon in indie horror:
Primal Darkness
“Cole Harrington, the host of a popular outdoor series, sets out to track down the predator responsible for a series of cattle attacks in rural Nevada. The mystery deepens when he uncovers footage depicting the final moments of two missing university employees.”
This one stars Dillon Brown, Maxwell Golden, and Blake Hyer. Directed/Written by Dillon Brown, it’s “set to release in Spring 2026, the film promises a brutal, atmospheric plunge into the unknown, far removed from the B-movie fun and creature-camp energy of Brown’s beloved Tahoe Joe series.”
“With this film, I wanted to push myself into uncomfortable places. It isn’t fun. It isn’t playful. Primal Darkness is meant to unsettle you,” shares Dillon Brown.
The Fairfield County Four
“Produced by Horror Dad Productions, The Fairfield County Four follows four internet personalities that disappeared in the woods of Connecticut while investigation reports of a large, wolf-like creature for their YouTube channel series The Cryptid Project. Eventually, investigators release the footage to an attorney via court order, who was hired by the families of the missing four to help uncover the truth.”
Starring Noah Welter, Erica Fett, Celeste Blandon, Jake Korponica, Joe Bob Briggs. It’s directed and written by Joshua Brucker.
“I’m very excited to get this film out there for the fans. It’s a film I am truly proud of, supported by an amazing cast and crew of individuals. Since I was a child, werewolves were always my go-to movie monster, and I’m happy to add one to my résumé.” — Joshua Brucker, Director
“Producers are currently seeking distribution for the film.”

New Fears Eve is now available to stream on Prime Video.
Guillotine Guys
“A comedy thriller about loss and attachment.”
Starring Russ Kingston, Mark Wood, J.C. Macek III.
Directed/Written by James Ricardo.
While writing for Dread previously, I shared: “If you told me this was set in the same world as Hobo with a Shotgun, I wouldn’t even question it. A short five-minute tale of (as the synopsis says) “loss and attachment,” the film is actually quite wholesome — despite severing one or two limbs along the way. I loved it, and feel it would make a perfect aperitif to a feature film, paired with another short or two. It deserves more love than its 15 years of existence has allotted, so if you’re up to it, check out Guillotine Guys for me!”
House of Abraham
“Haunted by her childhood memories of finding her mother dead, a conflicted Dee arrives at a mysterious secluded property looking for answers. Upon checking in, she meets six other weekend guests there for the same reason as herself — ending their lives with the assistance of the enigmatic host, Abraham.”
Starring Natasha Henstridge, Lin Shaye, Lukas Hassel.
Written by Lukas Hassel.
Directed by Lisa Belcher.
House of Abraham is available to stream right here.
Method (short film)
“When a dog sitter arrives at a house for what seems like a simple job, a list of strange rules makes me suspect that this is no ordinary dog.”
Starring Evan Petruzzi, Sasha Das.
Written/Directed by Tyler Czajkowski.
Produced in collaboration with the comedy skit duo — Very Very Close.
While writing for Dread previously, I shared: ““Ever since my grandparents had me watch Silver Bullet as a kid, canine-esque masks have scared the living hell out of me. Realistic-looking werewolves and big dogs? No problem. A guy in a Halloween dog mask running after people ala Creep? Game over, man. I’m cooked. All that to say this short film made me feel more anxious than any other film has in a long time. Highly recommend!”
Dog Skin (short film)
“After a man brings a stray dog into his home, he slowly realizes it might not be what it seems…”
Starring Phillip J. Chatwin, Joshua Bailey, Katara (Canine). Directed/Written by Scott Walburger.
“JESUS-FUCKING-CHRIST! It’s literally straight from my nightmares! I haven’t been this scared to turn off the lights since I was single-digits. Your mileage may vary, but for me, this struck right into my own personal fears. Bravo!” — Giallo Julian, Writer, Dread Central.
Aphasia
“Following a failed suicide attempt, Sarah watches herself leave her body and become an empty vessel for anything to crawl into. When she re-enters her body, she learns she isn’t alone.”
Starring Jessica Pearson, Joshua Jones, Shannon Smith.
Directed/Written by Brandon Tanczak.
Streaming on FawesomeTV here and Prime Video.
DRAG (short film)
“DRAG follows a lost soul through memory and loss as they drag their own coffin to hell.”
Starring Gerianne Hannibal, Liz Chiodo, Diamond Franklin, Molly Hetzel.
Directed/Written by Brandon Tanczak.
Final Days: Tales from the End Times
“Tells a number of stories that take place on the day in which our world comes to its end.”
Starring: Makalynn Adams, Seth Boyer, Benjamin Clark, Susan Danenberger, Sean Ed.
Written by Dillon Brown, Joshua Brucker, John Elder, Ash Hamilton, Ben Harl, Stephen Taylor.
Directed by Dillon Brown, Joshua Brucker, Ash Hamilton, Ben Harl.
Available to stream on Found TV here, Prime Video and Tubi.
GIALLO GABS GRUESOME:
New Fears Eve
This month, I had the opportunity to watch New Fears Eve, courtesy of director P.J. Starks, of which I said — “…when it comes to creative, over-the-top, gore-filled kills, this film rolls in with a full house (of corpses) in its hand! Seriously, this flick has some of the most off-the-wall displays of murderous mayhem I’ve seen in an indie horror slasher.”
Read my quick thoughts of the flick right here, and don’t forget to check it out on Prime Video!
CRITIC OF THE LIVING DEAD:
