Silent Night, Deadly Night is easily one of the most controversial slasher pictures of all time. When it debuted in 1984, the film was met with picketing parents and angry religious groups crying foul. Stephen C. Miller rebooted the film as Silent Night in 2012 with decidedly less outrage. Now, just 13 years on from that redux, we’re gearing up for the release of yet another reimagining.

With the picture poised to hit theaters on December 12, Cineverse and Bloody Disgusting have debuted a grisly new one-sheet for the picture, which you can check out below.

Like the original before it, the upcoming reimagining follows Billy (played by Rohan Campbell this time around), a young man badly scarred by past trauma who snaps and sets out on a holiday killing spree.

Wrong Turn (2021) director Mike P. Nelson wrote and directed the remake, which has fared far better with critics than the original. The redux is currently sitting at 87% fresh on Rotten Tomatoes with 15 reviews tallied thus far. Former Dread Central Editor-in-Chief Mary Beth McAndrews took the film in when it played Fantastic Fest and called it “ a Hallmark Christmas movie drenched in blood: light on plot but still a deeply entertaining watch.”

From the sound of it, the reboot is going to be a gory good time that is likely to appeal to fans of the campy original. In just about a month’s time, you’ll be able to check it out for yourself. Until then, stay tuned to Dread Central for more timely updates from the horror scene.
