‘V/H/S/Halloween’: Trailer for New Sequel Promises a Night of Candy and Terror [Watch]

VHS Halloween trailer

Released in 2012, found footage horror anthology V/H/S took audiences by storm. Shot to look like old V/H/S tapes, packed with creatures and dripping with gore, the film hit all the right notes for genre fans. Seven sequels later, and the franchise is still running strong, as you can see below in the new trailer for the latest entry, V/H/S/Halloween.

In the film, a collection of Halloween-themed videotapes unleashes a series of twisted, blood-soaked tales, turning trick-or-treat into a struggle for survival.

Watch the trailer for V/H/S/Halloween:

Malevolent trick ‘r treaters. Ghosts. Zombies. A living haunted house. Producer Josh Goldbloom and his team of writers/directors appear to have another wild sequel on their hands. V/H/S/Halloween seems to be handing out a bag full of October-themed treats, with something for everyone.

Each entry in this franchise tends to feature established as well as upcoming genre filmmakers, and V/H/S/Halloween is no different. The lineup this time around will include stories from directors Anna Zlokovic (Appendage), Paco Plaza (REC), Casper Kelly (Adult Swim Yule Log), Alex Ross Perry (Videoheaven), Micheline Pitt-Norman & R.H. Norman, and Bryan M. Ferguson.

In her review for Dread, our Editor in Chief, Mary Beth McAndrews, described V/H/S/Halloween as, “a back-to-basics stack of nightmares that share not only the Halloween theme, but a wickedly demented sense of humor that’s both incredibly entertaining and incredibly dark. It’s truly a Halloween treat“.

Don’t miss this nightmarish treat when V/H/S/Halloween screams exclusively on Shudder beginning October 3rd.
