‘Halloween’ Video Game From John Carpenter Reveals Michael Myers in New Trailer and Gallery

Are you sitting down, Halloween fans? If not, pull up a chair, because we just got some very exciting news out of Gamescom. A trailer has been revealed for a new Halloween game from IllFonic (the creators of the Friday the 13th: The Game), with Gun Media handling publishing. In the one-versus-many experience, you’ll attempt to survive the night as a civilian or hunt victims as the boogeyman himself, Michael Myers!

Gamers with a love of horror are likely quite familiar with IllFonic by now. The developers behind games such as the aforementioned Friday the 13th, Predator Hunting Grounds, and Killer Klowns from Outer Space, the label specializes in bringing massive genre properties into the gaming world. Made up of horror fans themselves, the team always manages to deliver games that express a deep passion for the title at hand. In all of the above, you’ll find all sorts of Easter eggs and references that make each one of IllFonic’s games a scream.

One complaint with IllFonic’s asymmetrical horror titles has been the lack of a single-player mode. But, according to IGN, Halloween will be an exception. Yes, you won’t have to play with obnoxious trolls online, meaning you can stalk as The Shape or hide from him all on your own.

While the announcement trailer doesn’t reveal much in terms of gameplay, IGN also reports that in the civilian role, you’ll do your best to warn authorities and save potential victims. Playing as Michael? You’ll lurk the streets of Haddonfield on multiple maps and cut the phone lines so that no one can escape.

As a kid, I always dreamed of video games where I could play as my favorite horror icons. Thanks to IllFonic, that dream has come true. Soon, fans around the world will be able to stalk and slash as the most iconic slasher of them all.

Halloween is set to bring Michael home when it releases sometime in 2026 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and S, and PC. You can follow the game’s progress at the official website or on X, Facebook, Instagram, and Tiktok.
