EXCLUSIVE: New ‘I Live Here Now’ Poster Features The Iconic Sheryl Lee

I Live Here Now

Julie Pacino’s feature film debut, I Live Here Now, is, simply put, stunning. A confronting debut that screams in the face of patriarchy, it demonstrates Pacino’s assured vision as a filmmaker. After a successful world premiere at the 2025 Fantasia International Film Festival, the film is now heading to the Locarno Film Festival to continue its tour around the world.

Read the full synopsis below:

In the surreal landscape of I Live Here Now, Rose (Lucy Fry), a struggling actress in Los Angeles, is thrown into crisis by an unexpected pregnancy. Believed to be infertile due to childhood trauma, she’s forced to confront a future she never thought possible, just as a major career opportunity with top agent Cindy Abrams (Cara Seymour) comes into view.

Things spiral further when her casual boyfriend, Travis (Matt Rife), and his overbearing mother (Sheryl Lee) weigh in, pushing Rose to the brink.

She flees to The Crown Inn, a crumbling motel at the edge of nowhere, where time fractures and reality bends. Haunted by sleep paralysis, splintered memories, and eerie motel dwellers, especially the enigmatic Lillian (Madeline Brewer), Rose begins to unravel. To move forward, she must confront a buried truth her body has never forgotten.

Ahead of the film’s screening at the prestigious Locarno Film Festival, we’re excited to debut the latest poster for Pacino’s first feature!

Pacino and her DP Aron Meinhardt shot the film on vivid 35mm and 16mm, giving the film a dream-like, timeless quality. In fact, I mentioned it in my review of the film out of Fantasia 2025, where I wrote:

I Live Here Now is a film so specific yet so universal, a tale you can feel resonate in your bone marrow, shaking awake the darkest parts of yourself you’ve kept buried for years. It’s a film that actually understands the deeply personal trauma of existing in the world as a woman, extending it beyond the basic and tired tropes around pregnancy in horror. Pacino bears her soul here, and you can feel it pulsating in every gorgeous 16mm frame. If this is Pacino just getting started, I cannot wait to see what’s next.

Lucy Fry (Godfather of Harlem), Matt Rife (Wild ‘N Out), Cara Seymour (Adaptation), Sheryl Lee (Twin Peaks), and Madeline Brewer (The Handmaid’s Tale) star in the film.

I Live Here Now is currently on its festival run, with its premiere at Locarno coming up next.
