There are less than 100 days until Halloween, my ghouls! And to celebrate, Shudder has given us some beautiful news: there’s a new V/H/S film coming this October! Simply titled V/H/S: Halloween, the film is set to release on October 3, 2025, and will include segments from Bryan M. Ferguson, Casper Kelly, Micheline Pitt-Norman & R.H. Norman, Alex Ross Perry, Paco Plaza, and Anna Zlokovixc.

While there’s no official plot synopsis yet, the title alone makes it sound like we’ll be getting segments not based on a time period, but instead inspired by Halloween. Will they all take place on Halloween night? How will they all be connected? We’ll have to tune in this October to find out.

Meet the V/H/S Filmmakers

Scottish filmmaker Bryan M. Ferguson has written and directed several short films, as well as directed countless music videos. According to this IMDb bio, Ferguson’s work is “paradoxically beautiful and disturbing—a juxtaposition of the uncanny and the surreal,” which sounds perfect for this particular horror franchise.

Casper Kelly is no stranger to found footage, writing and directing both Adult Swim Yule Log films and creating the earworm known as “Too Many Cooks”. He’s also responsible for the iconic Scooby Doo Project, an animated parody of The Blair Witch Project. Kelly knows how to marry comedy with the surreal and absurd, so it’ll be incredible to see what he’ll bring to the V/H/S series.

Married filmmaking duo Micheline Pitt-Norman & R.H. Norman are bringing their creativity to V/H/S: Halloween. Micheline Pitt is already known in the horror world for her fashion brand, Vixen, as well as her heart-wrenching short film, Grummy. Now, she and Norman are ready to show the world what else they can do.

Fresh off the release of his film Pavements, director Alex Ross Perry is joining the franchise with a deep love for found footage. While this is his first official foray into horror, his films like Her Smell still operate within the realm of the bizarre and unsettling.

Paco Plaza is a found footage legend, writing and directing the first three [REC] films. So his inclusion in V/H/S: Halloween is especially exciting, as he obviously knows how to craft a good and unconventional scare. Let’s hope he brings the blood with his segment.

Anna Zlokovic rounds out the lineup, tackling a segment after the release of her film Appendage, which premiered last year on Hulu. She has a knack for gnarly body horror and a flair for the comedic, so that only gets us more excited for what she has in store for the V/H/S audience.
