‘Too Many Cooks’ Creator Talks His Sneaky New Adult Swim Holiday Horror [Watch]

Adult Swim Yule Log

Earlier this week, following the season six finale of Ricky and Morty, Adult Swim played a yule log. Seems nice, right? A relaxing, static shot of a fire crackling in the hearth as soft Christmas music plays in the background. But, quickly, this calming yule log transformed into something else, something bloody, directed by the one and only Casper Kelly, responsible for shorts such as Too Many Cooks and The Scooby-Doo Project. In what is simply known as Adult Swim Yule Log, Kelly lets his horror imagination run wild.

Read the full synopsis below:

Described only as a “cozy crackling fire,” viewers were forewarned that the TV-MA yule log contained “violence, adult language, and brief nudity.” After beginning with festive fireplace visuals and holiday music, Adult Swim Yule Log gives way to unfolding a pulse-pounding story set within a remote cabin in which a mysterious and deadly fireplace constantly burns. Filled with mind-bending twists and a bizarre cast of characters, Adult Swim Yule Log welcomes viewers into a surreal, genre-defying thriller.

Dread Central spoke with Kelly about his feature film debut, surrealism, The Scooby-Doo Project, and more.
