With “The Walking Dead” doing so well for AMC, it was pretty much a given that other networks would hop on the bandwagon, and attempt to capitalize on the undead success. And the folks over on Telemundo are doing just that, with an upcoming zombie series en espanol. Read on!
Variety reports that the network’s companion channel Mun2 is currently developing a “Walking Dead”-inspired zombie drama titled “Maria of the Dead” (Maria Entre Todos Los Muertos), part of the channel’s attempt to add a little more edge to their programming.
Mun2’s spin revolves around a young woman who wakes up after a disastrous wedding day to discover that a zombie plague has taken over her country.
In a clip that ran Tuesday night at the Telemundo upfront presentation in New York, Maria battles zombies in her tattered wedding dress, with plenty of decolletage on display.
The series was created by Marlon Quintero for CIC Media.
