‘Revival’ Exclusive Clip: An Unexpected Family Reunion

Series creators Aaron B. Koontz and Luke Boyce took on quite an interesting challenge when adapting the best-selling Image Comics series, Revival, for TV. While comic book adaptations can often be hit or miss, the duo’s love for the story and for the comic medium seeps through the screen in a series that’s creepy, freaky, and even a little bit funny.
In the new series:
On one miraculous day in rural Wisconsin, the recently deceased suddenly rise from their graves. But this is no zombie story as the “revived” appear and act just like they once were. When local Officer and single mother Dana Cypress is unexpectedly thrown into the center of a brutal murder mystery of her own, she’s left to make sense of the chaos amidst a town gripped by fear and confusion where everyone, alive or undead, is a suspect.
In our exclusive clip from this week’s episode, Dana, his sister, and their dad have an unexpected family reunion…
Watch now:
The original Revival series was created by Tim Seeley and Mike Norton, and was released from July 2012 to February 2017. During its run, the comic was nominated for three Harvey Awards and garnered a cult following. Seeley has been working since 2012 to get an adaptation made of the comic, and now he’s finally seeing it come to fruition.
Melanie Scrofano (Ready Or Not, Wynonna Earp), Romy Weltman (Slasher), David James Elliott (JAG, Mad Men), Andy McQueen (Mrs. Davis), and Steven Ogg (Better Call Saul, The Walking Dead) star in Revival.
A new episode of Revival airs tomorrow, Thursday, June 19, 2025, at 10 PM ET/PT on SyFy. It’ll premiere on Peacock one week later.
