Every Single Movie in This Iconic Horror Franchise is on The HBO Max Top 10

Final Destination

Fans waited for what felt like an eternity for the release of the long-gestured sixth entry in the Final Destination franchise and Final Destination: Bloodlines has proved to be worth the wait. Mere days after release, the latest installment already sits as the most financially successful film in the franchise as well as the most critically acclaimed installment in the series. With so much buzz surrounding the IP, it’s no wonder that the entire franchise (save for the installment still playing in theaters, of course) is presently trending on HBO Max.

The way the installments land on the Max charts seems mostly consistent with fan sentiments toward each respective effort, though there is one thing about the placement that surprises me a little. More on that shortly.

Here’s the rundown: The original series installment claims the #2 slot on the HBO Max charts today; Final Destination 2 sits as the third most-watched title on the platform; Final Destination 3 claims the fourth place position; Final Destination 5 sits in sixth; and the oft-maligned fourth installment, The Final Destination, comes in at the back of the pack, claiming the #8 slot.

Although most of the chart positions are in line with what I was expecting, I was a little surprised to see the fifth film charting after the third. That one ranks a little higher for me as the installment that brought everything full circle, taking the series out on a high note before it went into hibernation for 14 years.

I’d love to hear what you all think about the chart placement. Hit us up in the comments section below or on Twitter (not X) @DreadCentral to let us know where each series installment lands in your personal ranking.

Per Final Destination wiki, the setup for this celebrated franchise goes like this: The series focuses on groups of people trying to avoid Death after one of them has a premonition where they are all supposed to die, but they save themselves at the last minute, causing a rift in Death’s design. Death itself tries to set things right by killing all of those who disturbed the balance.

There it is, dear reader, the buzz surrounding the new Final Destination film seems to have HBO Max fans feeling nostalgic. That’s likely a big reason why the first five series installments are presently charting in the top 10 on Max.
