Stephen King Calls This Mysterious Netflix Series “Dark,” “Complex,” and “Terrific”

These days, most of us spend as much time searching for content to watch as we spend actually watching content. Well, we’ve got an acclaimed series recommendation from prolific author Stephen King that will cut down on your time expended scouring for new content. Fair warning, it may also scare the daylights out of you. King is a seasoned veteran of the macabre and his endorsement makes the program sound plenty atmospheric and intense. With that said, you don’t have to take our word for it, check out the celebrated author’s tweet directly below.
“Dark (Netflix) is dark and complex…and…well…very German. Terrific show. If you get confused, go to MetaWitches and check out Metacrone’s recaps. Detailed and helpful.”
Does King’s appreciation for the series have you eager to experience it? if so, make your way to Netflix and give Dark a look!
Baran bo Odar and Jantje Friese created the program and serve as co-showrunners. Their collaborative effort features 10 episodes in season one and eight episodes each in seasons two and three.
The program takes place primarily in the present but also includes timelines that veer into the past and future.

The show doesn’t seem to have quite the same name recognition Stateside that it does in Europe, however, those who have taken the time to experience it have nothing but love for the series. In fact, Dark has a 95% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes and has graced multiple lists championing the program as one of the best of its kind.
The Setup for Dark Is This:
When two children go missing in a small German town, its sinful past is exposed along with the double lives and fractured relationships that exist among four families as they search for the kids. The mystery-drama series introduces an intricate puzzle filled with twists that includes a web of curious characters, all of whom have a connection to the town’s troubled history — whether they know it or not. The story includes supernatural elements that tie back to the same town in 1986.
There you have it, dear reader, Stephen King is a fan of Dark and you may find that you are too. If the premise of the show appeals to you, navigate to Netflix to see what you think.
