The Quiet Ones is inspired by the story of Steffen Baadsgaard Andersen, who, alongside 25 other men, committed the largest heist in Danish history. In 2008, after over two years of planning, the group stole over 70 million kroner (nearly USD 10 million in today’s currency) from a Danish Value Handling facility.
While writing and developing the script, Hviid and August actually worked with Andersen to shape their heist scenes. In an interview with Time Magazine, Hviid explains, “From when they get into the cars to when they arrive back at the farm, that is done with 100% accuracy. And I can only say that with confidence, because Steffen, when he saw the film, said ‘This is exactly 100% as I remember it.’”
Gustav Dyekjær Giese, Reda Kateb, Amanda Collin, Christopher Wagelin, and Jens Hultén star in the film.
The Quiet Ones is out now on Blu-ray, DVD, and VOD.
