‘Together’ Official Trailer Takes Co-Dependency to Another Level

Real-life married couple Alison Brie and Dave Franco are putting it all out there with their new horror film Together, coming this summer from Neon and writer/director Michael Shanks. In the new gnarly piece of body horror, Shanks explodes onto the horror scene with a horrific look at what happens when you take co-dependency quite literally…
Read the film’s full synopsis:
Years into their relationship, Tim and Millie (Dave Franco and Alison Brie) find themselves at a crossroads as they move to the country. Abandoning all that is familiar in their lives except for each other. With tensions already flaring, a nightmarish encounter with a mysterious, unnatural force threatens to corrupt their lives, their love, and their flesh.

You can’t help but clock the incredible use of a slowed-down “Happy Together” by The Turtles as the trailer shows more explicit images of bodies joining, separating, bleeding, and much more. I mean, there’s an electric saw sequence teased here. As they say, there will be blood, indeed.
Franco and Brie lead the film, pulling from their actual chemistry and marriage to craft their characters. Damon Herriman (The Nightingale) also stars as the couple’s marriage counselor.
In his review of the film out of Sundance 2025, Dread Central’s Zachary Lee wrote,
Together is a slick and incisive look at the dangers of codependency, but it never forgets to be a grotesque and squeamish joyride, thanks to Brie and Franco’s commitment to embodying the demented thrills of when two become one.
Together comes exclusively to theaters on July 30, 2025.
