‘Alien: Earth’ Teaser Reveals Its Due Date
Alien aficionados are feasting as FX has released an all-new teaser, official synopsis, and release date for the upcoming series Alien: Earth. Over five years in the making and helmed by Noah Crawley (Fargo, Legion), the new series takes place on Earth two years before the events of Ridley Scott’s 1979 original film.

When a mysterious space vessel crash-lands on Earth, a young woman and a ragtag group of tactical soldiers make a fateful discovery that puts them face-to-face with the planet’s greatest threat. As members of the crash recovery crew search for survivors among the wreckage, they encounter mysterious predatory life forms more terrifying than they could have ever imagined. With this new threat unlocked, the search crew must fight for survival and what they choose to do with this discovery could change planet Earth as they know it.

While the teaser is short and sweet, it got our blood pumping with the voiceover announcing that “In 2120, Mother Earth is expecting” before a xenomorph appears on screen. One thing is for sure, they are keeping everything tightly under wraps before the series premiere in 2025.
While the Alien: Earth takes place before the events of the first film, it won’t have ties to Scott’s prequel films Prometheus and Alien: Covenant.
In a 2021 interview with Entertainment Weekly, showrunner Noah Hawley said, “In [Alien: Earth] you’re also going to see the people who are sending [the spaceship crews]. So, you will see what happens when the inequality we’re struggling with now isn’t resolved. If we as a society can’t figure out how to prop each other up and spread the wealth, then what’s going to happen to us?”
Sydney Chandler leads the series and stars alongside a star-studded cast that includes Alex Lawther, Timothy Olyphant, Essie Davis, Samuel Blenkin, Babou Ceesay, David Rysdahl, Adrian Edmondson, Adarsh Gourav, Jonathan Ajayi, Erana James, Lily Newmark, Diem Camille, and Moe Bar-El.
Alien: Earth comes to Hulu in summer 2025.
