‘Chateau’ Exclusive Clip Teases A Special Kind of Found Footage Nightmare
Last year, Luke Genton’s Sorry Charlie had its world premiere at Popcorn Frights. Now, he’s back again, this time with his found footage nightmare Chateau.
In this found footage/screen life thriller,
An aspiring influencer named James is hired to clean a reportedly haunted chateau while on a French vacation funded by odd jobs. With unrestricted access to a property that is normally closed to the public, she sees an opportunity to covertly film a vlog that could result in an influx of followers. While investigating a series of disappearances linked to the residence, James uncovers a chilling truth: those who perish there remain trapped. And they want their story told…
In our exclusive clip, a quick visit to the overgrown greenhouse gets way spookier than expected.

Colton Tran and Cathy Marks star in the film.
Genton said of Chateau,
“As a huge fan of found footage/screenlife films, it was a dream getting to make one alongside old and new friends at a chateau in the French countryside. I’m thrilled to have the film premiere at Popcorn Frights, especially after we had such a wonderful experience with them last year on a project I wrote and produced called Sorry Charlie. I hope people enjoy watching this film as much as we enjoyed making it!”
Chateau will have its World Premiere virtually nationwide at the 10th Annual Popcorn Frights Film Festival on Friday, August 9. Purchase your virtual all-access pass here.
