Overlooked, Shocking Denzel Washington Chiller Is Now Streaming On Peacock

There haven’t been enough Denzel Washington thrillers on my screen this week. While I need to fix that problem ASAP, I wanted to remind you all about one of his more underrated genre appearances. The Bone Collector saw our favorite actor sharing the screen with Angelina Jolie and Queen Latifah. We’re all in luck because this chiller is now on Peacock. Read on for a quick crash course on this tense tale for the uninitiated.
In the film,
“Policewoman Amelia Donaghy (Angelina Jolie) is in hot pursuit of a serial murderer whose calling card is a small shard of bone extracted from each of his victims. Unable to decipher the cryptic clues the killer leaves behind at the scene of the crime, Amelia calls upon quadriplegic forensic criminology expert Lincoln Rhyme (Denzel Washington) to help. With Amelia acting as Rhyme’s able-bodied go-between, the pair piece together disparate clues, hoping they will learn who the next victim is.”

The Bone Collector was directed by Phillip Noyce. It was written by Jeremy Iacone. The movie is based on a novel of the same name written by Jeffery Deaver. The cast includes Denzel Washington, Angelina Jolie, Queen Latifah, Michael Rooker, Mike McGlone, Luis Guzmán, Leland Orser, and Ed O’Neill.
Many Denzel Washington fans think this is one of his most impressive roles. Most are in awe of how his character was confined to a bed, but Washington still gave the most compelling performance in the movie.

I obviously rewatched The Bone Collector recently. It’s definitely one of the Denzel Washington movies that left a lasting impression on me in my youth. So, I was excited to see if it was as gripping as I remembered it. I’m happy to report it lives up to the hype.
