Kansas City-based director Patrick Rea (Nailbiter) and his team have just wrapped a new horror short titled Counter Parts, and we have the early word and a few stills to share from the shoot.
Starring Somyia Finley, Counter Parts is about identical twins, one of whom is a famous actress, while the other has just lost her eyes and a leg in a terrible accident. The injured twin turns to the supernatural to heal herself.
The film, which was shot entirely in the Kansas City area, was directed by Rea (pictured above) and executive produced by Somyia and Christopher Finley. The script was written by Rea and Michelle Davidson. The director of photography was Rea regular Hanuman Brown-Eagle.
One of Rea’s current short films, The Hourglass Figure, will premiere at this year’s Shriekfest, running October 3rd-6th in Los Angeles. The prolific director is in pre-production on Enclosure, which is aiming to shoot principal photography in Kansas and Missouri in October. The feature film about a married couple trapped inside a tent with a mysterious stranger while ferocious creatures wait for them outside is also co-written by Rea and Davidson.
Look for more on all of these projects soon! In the meantime you can see some of Patrick’s other award-winning short films at SenoReality on Vimeo.
