Pastor Accused of Attempting to Deep-Fry Someone’s Face [Horror IRL]

This bit of news really epitomizes that bumper sticker that says: ‘Please Lord, save me from your followers’. Dwayne Wayden, the pastor of Elevated Life International Ministries in North Carolina, is facing criminal charges following an explosive incident at his wife’s workplace.
Daily Mail reports that Wayden’s spouse, Latoya Gladney, phoned her husband from the McDonald’s restaurant where she was employed as a management trainee, telling the pastor that the staff was being rude to her. Wayden was unsettled by the news and later arrived on the scene where matters got rather heated.
When Wayden entered the restaurant, he wasted no time with pleasantries. The pastor quickly made his way to the food preparation area and started punching fry cook Theodore Garlington in the face. Matters only escalated from there. Wayden then began pushing Garlington’s head toward the deep fryer. Before Wayden was able to successfully deep-fry Garlington’s face, multiple employees overpowered the man of God, ensuring Garlington was out of harm’s way.

According to the police report obtained by Daily Mail, Garlington suffered multiple injuries from the scuffle. He endured contusions to his forehead and right eye and scratches around his neck.
Upon arriving on the scene, local authorities arrested the pastor for assault and battery. After being placed under arrest, Wayden was taken to police headquarters and later released on a $1,000 bond. He is expected to appear in court on January 22, 2024.
The North Carolina McDonald’s franchise has confirmed to CBS News that Gladney is no longer employed as a management trainee at that location, noting that “the safety and security of our employees and customers is our top priority.”
