Deadline recently broke an avalanche of news that’ll bring James Wan fans to their knees. First, they revealed that the Sino-American fund Stars-Hana is developing video games based on movie projects that Wan filmmaker is currently developing. You heard me correctly. We are about near the dawn of a very bold, scary, and aesthetically pleasing future. Oh, and one of the titles just happens to be a Cthulu project that Wan has been working on for five years.

We discovered earlier this year that the electric filmmaker’s dream project is to adapt The Call of Cthulhu, a short story written by H.P. Lovecraft, for the screen. The original story reads as the notes of Francis Thurston, who is investigating a legendary creature. Now, his dream is becoming a reality. You can read the story at The H.P. Lovecraft Archive.

But wait, there’s more!

While most of us were excited to see what James Wan would do with that, few of us could’ve ever dreamed we’d play a video game based on whatever the results would be. So, Stars-Hana just blew our minds with that announcement.

The company also has plans to create games based on other upcoming James Wan titles including, Mass Extinction, GMO, and the joint effort with Don Murphy called Hunting Season. While this is enough to make all the little nerds like me happy, they also announced a video game adaptation of the James Wan and Sam Raimi project, The Burden

Don't Move Sam Raimi

If there were ever two directors that should work together, it’s Wan and Raimi. So, I would like that film injected directly into one eyeball while this game claims the other. I will be freaking out for the next five business days. If you are also screaming, crying, and making peace with how much money you’re about to spend buying video games, find me at @misssharai.
