Twitter is filled with people going too far with their opinions on horror movies. While most of us can laugh at the ridiculousness in group chats, many others can’t fight the urge to wade in to be the loudest voice in the thread. Especially when it comes to Tobe Hooper’s The Texas Chain Saw Massacre.
Hooper probably thought TCM would be divisive for many reasons. However, I doubt he could have foreseen social media’s need to fight about whether it’s overrated or underrated in the year of our lord Akela Cooper 2023. Hopefully, hearing from Stephen King will help some of the most unhinged people on Twitter calm down a bit. Maybe it will remind them they can like something without needing everyone else to worship it as much as they do. Oh, right. That’s not how Twitter works.
