The #1 Thriller On Prime Video Is: “Gory yet magical”

It seems we are all in the holiday horror mood this week. This might explain why so many of us are revisiting one of the funniest, bloodiest Christmas movies that came out last year. The #1 thriller on Prime Video today is Violent Night. I am about to stuff a synopsis and a trailer in your stocking and then tell you about this awesome little treat.

In the film,

When a team of mercenaries breaks into a wealthy family compound on Christmas Eve, taking everyone inside hostage, the team isn’t prepared for a surprise combatant: Santa Claus (David HarbourBlack WidowStranger Things series) is on the grounds, and he’s about to show why this Nick is no saint.

Violent Night was directed by Tommy Wirkola. The script was written by Pat Casey and Josh Miller. The film stars David Harbour, John Leguizamo, Beverly D’Angelo, Alex Hassell, Alexis Louder, Edi Patterson, Cam Gigandet, and Leah Brady.

This movie gave Twitter new reasons to obsess over David Harbour. It also has many viewers reorganizing their lists of favorite Christmas films. In a very controversial turn of events, fans are saying it is better than Die Hard.

Because I have yet to ever make it to the end of a Die Hard movie, and I adore this film, I want to agree with Twitter this time. This movie is darkly comedic, violent, and so many more words I associate with Christmas. You should check it out on Prime Video and see what you think.

Have you already watched both movies? Where do you fall in this heated debate? Do you think Violent Night or Die Hard is the better holiday thriller? Let me know at @misssharai.
