Hulu Thrills: Shocking New Murder Mystery Series Has Viewers “Gagged”

Hulu

What happens when you mix Gen-Z sensibilities, reclusive billionaires, Agatha Christie homage, and murder? Well, you get A Murder at the End of the World, Hulu’s latest whodunnit sensation that is currently sitting pretty at Number 2 on the Hulu streaming charts. The series stars Emma Corrin, Brit Marling, Harris Dickinson, and Alice Braga among others. A pretty solid cast if you ask me. Check out a trailer and synopsis below:

Per Hulu: Gen Z amateur sleuth and tech-savvy hacker Darby Hart and eight other guests are invited by a reclusive billionaire to participate in a retreat at a remote location. When one of the other guests is found dead, Darby must use her skills to prove it was murder before the killer takes another life.

The series is still ongoing, with three more episodes to go until its season finale. Delayed on account of the 2023 SAG-AFTRA strike, the series will wrap on December 19, so there’s still plenty of time to get caught up if you haven’t caught the series yet. Compared to other streamers, Hulu releases original programming with considerably less regularity, so A Murder at the End of the World, on account of it regularly topping the charts there, is a huge win for the streamer.

Luckily, critical and audience reception has been kind, too. The series is sitting at a healthy 88% on Rotten Tomatoes right now, and while there’s no telling how the season will wrap, the success no doubt suggests more end-of-the-world murder if Hulu decides to renew for another go-round. Fans seem to be loving the twists and turns, and there’s a pretty healthy fan discussion online about what it all means. I won’t spoil anything here, but some of the theories sound pretty convincing.
