We all know The Exorcist has a checkered history of sequels and reboots. This is especially sad because the first film is still one of the scariest possession movies to ever be made. However, where most of the follow-up titles failed, there was a surprising ray of light in this dark franchise.

The Exorcist was a banger of a TV series that aired on Fox from 2016-2017. Those two seasons brought us twenty episodes that make up arguably the best legacy sequel of the franchise. While the show has been on Hulu for a few years, it’s now also on Tubi for horror fiends on a budget. Let me explain why you need to take advantage of this title while it’s streaming for free.99.

The series follows two priests attempting to help a family being tormented by an evil entity. However, they soon realize their mission is much bigger than just one demon and one family.

The Exorcist (TV Show) was created by Jeremy Slater. It’s based on The Exorcist by William Peter Blatty. The first season starred Alfonso Herrera, Ben Daniels, Hannah Kasulka, Brianne Howey, Kurt Egyiawan, Alan Ruck, and Geena Davis.

While I was late to the TV series by a couple of years, I’m not the only one who thinks it deserved a third season. I’m also not alone in recognizing that it’s better than most movies that have haunted the franchise over the decades.
