‘Night Swim’ Trailer Warns You To Stay Out Of The Water [Watch]
Maybe I’m alone in this, but as a kid, I was always wary of pools. Maybe it was because I read Chuck Palahniuk’s “Guts” too young or it was that undiagnosed anxiety disorder. Oh, and don’t forget the iconic pool scene in Poltergeist. Regardless, no matter how much I loved to swim, the thought of something strange lurking in the concrete tugged at the back of my brain. Now, Atomic Monster and Blumhouse are making my nightmares about killer pools a reality in Night Swim. Based on the acclaimed 2014 short film by Rod Blackhurst and Bryce McGuire, McGuire helms the upcoming horror feature.
Read the full synopsis below:
Ray Waller is a former major league baseball player forced into early retirement by a degenerative illness, who moves into a new home with his concerned wife Eve, teenage daughter Izzy, and young son Elliot.
Secretly hoping, against the odds, to return to pro ball, Ray persuades Eve that the new home’s shimmering backyard swimming pool will be fun for the kids and provide physical therapy for him. But a dark secret in the home’s past will unleash a malevolent force that will drag the family under, into the depths of inescapable terror.
Night Swim is written and directed by McGuire. It’s produced by James Wan and Jason Blum. The film is executive produced by Michael Clear and Judson Scott for Atomic Monster and by Ryan Turek for Blumhouse.
Wyatt Russell, Kerry Condon, Amélie Hoeferle, and Gavin Warren star in the film.
Night Swim doesn’t have an announced release date but is slated to hit theaters soon. Keep checking Dread Central for more updates as we have them!
