‘Scream 7’ — Has the Logo Been Revealed? [Image]
Dread Central was fortunate enough to receive a delightful surprise package from Paramount Pictures to promote the upcoming release of Pet Sematary: Bloodlines, which premieres on Paramount+ October 6. Serving as a prequel to the 2019 remake, Bloodlines is set 50 years before the first, following a young Jud Crandall (Jackson White) and his first encounter with the titular cemetery (or Sematary). Nestled within the package were plenty of fun stencils for some Halloween pumpkin carving, though a few in particular stood out, especially the one for Scream. Have a look below
Now, we don’t know for certain, but the font there, especially the “M” at the end, makes it look like a potential logo for the forthcoming Scream 7. While we don’t know much about the upcoming sequel to the massively successful Scream and Scream VI, the design here certainly looks to carry over the Roman numeral aesthetic that started with 6. While it might just be for ease of use in stenciling (seriously, stenciling a pumpkin is nightmarishly difficult), there’s a chance it’s an early preview of the sequel’s logo.
Scream 7’s plot is being kept under wraps, though we do know Christopher Landon (Happy Death Day, Freaky) is taking over directorial duties from Tyler Gillett and Matt Bettinelli-Olpin who helmed the previous two legacy sequels. Now that the Writers Guild of America and AMPTP have reached a tentative agreement in their contract negotiations, we’re likely going to be hearing more about the upcoming sequel soon. Who’s returning? Who’s stepping away? Where’s Ghostface gonna be, anyway? We don’t know for certain, but if this does turn out to be the next installment’s logo, we might not have much longer to wait before we hear more.
