The original film, Creepshow, premiered in 1982. It was directed by George A. Romero and written by Stephen King. The movie starred Hal Holbrook, Adrienne Barbeau, Fritz Weaver, Leslie Nielsen, Carrie Nye, E. G. Marshall, and Viveca Lindfors.
The anthology consisted of five short but creepy stories. It has inspired most of the horror anthologies that have followed it over the last 30 years. It also spawned two sequels before becoming a Shudder original series.
