The 10 Best Horrific Hidden Gems On Prime Video, According to Reddit

The people who use Reddit take their horror seriously. Which is when u/Lex_Innokenti asked the community to share their favorite Prime Video hidden gems, we knew we would see some quality suggestions. The list is already beyond impressive, but we clocked some of our personal favorites that we’d like to bring to your attention.

Coherence (2013)

Things get really weird for friends having dinner as a comet passes overhead. I hit play on this movie to see what Nicholas Brendon was doing. However, I got a whole mood and left wanting to see more from director and co-writer James Ward Byrkit. Because I’m always recommending it, I’m happy to see Reddit is too.

Dead End (2003)

A family picks the wrong year to try a shortcut during their annual Christmas road trip to their in-laws. I watched this one because I saw it on a Christmas horror list a few years ago. It’s now one of my favorite creepy holiday tales. It’s also another reason we have to stop pretending Lin Shaye isn’t our reigning horror queen.

ReBroken (2023)

A stranger gives a grieving father a way to contact his recently deceased daughter. Tobin Bell is going to be here, so I’m making my way to the app as you read this. This one snuck under my radar, which is fair because this has been a huge year for horror movies. It’s giving grief and ghost kids, so I need to see it.

Torn Hearts (2022)

A country music duo finds out that you shouldn’t meet your idols. This movie had no business being as good as it is. The combination of Brea Grant and Katey Sagal had me boot scoot boogying into the group chats to tell my friends to watch it the second the credits were over. I’m now here for the Yeehaw agenda and will never be the same.

The Darkness of the Road (2021)

A mother-daughter road trip takes a turn when they meet a hitchhiker, and the daughter goes missing. This is one of those times that Reddit is single-handedly saving culture because not enough people are talking about this title. Happy to see this one get a little love on the internet today.

Don’t Leave Home (2018)

An artist’s obsession with an urban legend leads them to investigate its disturbing origins in Ireland. If there’s one thing I’m going to do, it’s telling you to call out of work and prioritize horror movies set in Europe. So, this is one of those times I have to agree with Reddit.

Pyewacket (2017)

A teen finds out she should be careful what she wishes for when she accidentally summons a witch to kill her mom. This movie is creepy and cool in all the right ways. I’m happy the Reddit community is telling others to watch it because what a ride.

Black Mountain Side (2014)

An isolated team’s sanity starts to unravel after they find a mysterious structure in Northern Canada. This movie has proven very divisive among horror fiends, so I’m laughing that Reddit is on its side. I live for this kind of chaotic internet stance and will be texting the crew momentarily.

The Wailing (2016)

A stranger’s arrival may be linked to a mysterious sickness spreading through a small village. This is one of my favorite movies I have ever seen on the streamer. I feel like I should put on my Nicole Kidman AMC wig and suit when I talk about it because it is cinema, baby. If you have not seen this unsettling Korean film, then fix that right now.

Dead Birds (2004)

A group of Confederates hiding out on a plantation find themselves up against a supernatural force. Horror westerns are one of the hardest subgenres to get right. So, the fact that this one made enough of an impression on the Reddit community to be listed as a Prime Video gem says a lot.
