‘My Friendly Neighborhood’ – First 30 Minutes Of Game Footage Revealed [Video]

We couldn’t be more excited about the release of DreadXP’s My Friendly Neighborhood, which drops in only two weeks. We know how hard at work the whole Dread team has been on this insane and unmissable game, and we’re sure fans are going to love it.

In anticipation for the bonkers evil-puppet horror game of the year, IGN has debuted an exclusive 30 minutes of mind-melting footage from our latest game release. So you won’t have to wait another minute to take a peek at this cornucopia of hugs and terror. Check it out below.

The first footage reveals the character Gordon, a repairman mechanic type whose final shift at an empty production studio is about to turn deadly. When the production lot comes to life, so do the characters from the children’s program “The Friendly Neigborhood” … and 123 Sunrise Street takes a turn for the worst.

IGN describes My Friendly Neighorhood as “Sesame Street meets Resident Evil,” and honestly, that sounds about right. Prepare for wild jump scares, colorful characters, and a boatload of horror … I mean … fun!

My Friendly Neighborhood arrives to PC via Steam on July 20th. The PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One and Xbox Series will become available later this year!

Official synopsis:

“My Friendly Neighborhood puts you into the work boots of Gordon, a repairman tasked with shutting down the sudden broadcast of a canceled children’s TV show titled The Friendly Neighborhood. Back in the day, the loveable show lit up TV screens and the smiling faces of children all across the world. Fans loved its colorful cast of kooky puppets who took them on educational adventures and delighted them with fun games. But the show’s popularity waned over time, and the studio had to ultimately shut its doors. Now the show’s characters are back on the air for an encore… wait, are they eating each other!?

Featuring a mix of action and adventure, My Friendly Neighborhood is the perfect game for horror fans looking for solid and surprising scares rather than gore. Sure, there might not be any dead bodies, dismemberment, or decapitations, but don’t expect your new puppet pals to stay down for good. They demand hugs — intense, painful hugs.”
