‘Brightwood’ Trailer: This Isn’t Your Grandma’s Time Loop Horror Film
When a relationship is on the rocks, couples counseling is typically the solution. But in Dane Elcar‘s new film Brightwood, couples counseling isn’t a therapist and a nice couch. It’s an endless time loop and a hooded killer. If you can survive that, your marriage can survive anything.
Read the full synopsis:
Jen and Dan’s marriage is on the rocks with Jen seriously thinking about ending it for good. But when the pair go on a jog around a local pond in an attempt to hash things out, they find themselves running in circles as the exit trail vanishes and they repeatedly return to the same spot. Being stuck together in an endless loop would be bad enough, but when a silent hooded killer appears and starts tracking them down, the couple must figure out how to survive—together or apart.

In her review from Panic Fest 2023, Dread Central’s Mary Beth McAndrews wrote,
“Brightwood is a shining example of effective low-budget horror with a nasty twist. It’s not perfect, but Elcar directs the hell out of this to deliver an effective sci-fi horror that isn’t afraid to be dark.”
Dana Berger and Max Woertendyke star in the film.
Brightwood comes to VOD and DVD on August 22, 2023.
