The ‘Silent Hill: Ascension’ Trailer Has Arrived And It’s Terrifying

It’s a damn good week to be a survival horror video game girl! The Silent Hill: Ascension trailer just dropped. It’s giving us a chance to go back into this beloved hell world later this year. We also get to bring friends along for the ride this time.
Described as an “interactive streaming series,” this installment is mixing things up a bit. It’s promising multiple main characters from around the world, which is only fair because this franchise has given all of us nightmares for decades. So we should all be represented.

Silent Hill: Ascension is also utilizing Genvid’s real-time interactive system. It will allow millions of people to alter characters’ outcomes. So we get to decide who lives, who dies, and who’s fate is even more sinister than death. This also means the ending of the game is entirely up to the audience. The official site stresses that even the project’s creators have no clue where this will lead because too many variables are left entirely up to the gamers.
Genvid recently did something similar with last year’s The Walking Dead: Last Mile. It saw the popular franchise move the zombie fight to Alaska, allowing players to choose what happens to the characters.

I personally love this franchise, and I also happen to love interactive games. While I’m not always the biggest fan of group projects, I’m already picking out snacks and clearing my schedule for this event.
