Jordan Peele Says This Snowy Scene Is His “Favorite shot in all of horror” [Watch]

Jordan Peele is a horror scholar. This is why his lists of favorite films are always a sight to behold. When Peele stopped by Fear: The Home of Horror, they decided to make him prove his love for the classics he always talks about by putting them head to head in a bracket. Uncle Jordan was stressed as he had to make tough choices.

While making these difficult decisions, he was still praising the peak examples of horror cinema. He also accidentally let it slip that one movie, in particular, has one of his favorite shots of all time.

Turns out, Stanley Kubrick’s reimagining of Stephen King’s The Shining left a mark on Uncle Jordan. While raining compliments, he said the movie has his ”favorite shot in all of horror.” Peele went on to describe the scene with Shelley Duvall’s character running with a knife outside of The Overlook Hotel.

We love Peele and DuVall, so are obsessed with that shot being the one he specifically highlighted. It’s common knowledge that DuVall had to work under an abusive director. This is another reason her Razzie nomination was always extra gross.

The cast and crew turned out something memorable, despite the behind-the-scenes horror show. Which is why the film makes it into so many favorites lists. This is another reason Peele namechecking DuVall in his favorite shot is our new happy place.

Are you shocked Jordan Peele’s favorite shot comes from The Shining? Tell me either way at @misssharai.
